Apple Raises iPhone Prices in Japan by 10% on July 17, Citing Memory Chip Costs and Yen Weakness

According to Japanese media, Apple raised iPhone prices in Japan on Friday (July 17), with the iPhone 17 standard 256GB model increasing from 129,800 yen to 142,800 yen, a 10% jump. The company attributed the price increase to rising semiconductor production costs, particularly for storage and memory chips driven by growing artificial intelligence demand, as well as yen depreciation impacting import costs. The price adjustment also applies to Pro and Air series models. This marks Apple's first price revision for the same iPhone lineup in Japan since July 2022.
