Alibaba and Baidu Shares Rise 5% and 4% on July 16 After Announcing Apple Intelligence Partnerships for China

According to CNBC, Alibaba and Baidu shares rose 5% and 4% respectively on July 16 after both announced collaborations with Apple on Apple Intelligence features for China. Alibaba said its Qwen model would be integrated into Apple Intelligence across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS for Chinese users. Baidu is also working with Apple on Apple Intelligence features for iPhones in China.

The announcements follow approval from China's Cyberspace Administration on July 15, which included Apple Intelligence and six other AI services on its list of approved providers. The move strengthens both companies' positions in China's AI market as Apple expands Apple Intelligence locally with regulatory-compliant partners.
