Mastercard and Google are developing infrastructure for shopping through AI agents
The payment giant is launching "Verifiable Intent" – a system that creates cryptographic proof of what exactly the user authorized when an AI agent makes a transaction.
This allows:
• To verify that the agent is truly authorized by the user.
• To record instructions and purchase conditions.
• To prevent fraud and resolve disputes more quickly.
The technology is being developed in collaboration with Google and will be integrated into the Mastercard Agent Pay payment system.
