Social media platform X submits remedial measures to the European Commission regarding blue verification mark issues

Gate News Report, March 13 — Thomas Rénier, spokesperson for the European Commission responsible for digital economy affairs, announced at a press conference that Elon Musk's social media platform X has submitted a rectification plan to the European Commission regarding the “blue check” verification issue. Previously, in December 2025, the European Commission issued its first “non-compliance decision” under the Digital Services Act, imposing a fine of 120 million euros on the X platform. The violations identified by the EU include: X's “blue check” verification can be obtained solely through payment, which is misleading to users in terms of interface design; X's advertising database is non-compliant in transparency and accessibility; and X has not provided access to public platform data for qualified researchers as required.
