Why XRP is in focus
Resumption of ETF inflows: U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded net inflows of $6.55 million on July 2, raising total AUM to $987.91 million and cumulative inflows to $1.49 billion since launch. This marks the eighth consecutive positive week for ETF products.
Exchange outflows: More than 25 million XRP left exchanges in recent days, extending a trend that typically signals accumulation rather than immediate selling.
Institutional infrastructure: Ripple Prime obtained a $200M facility to expand margin financing. Ripple also completed a tokenized treasury settlement on XRPL with major institutions.
RLUSD adoption: Ripple's dollar stablecoin reached a market cap of $1.64 billion with settlement volume exceeding $2.5 billion on the XRP Ledger, generating demand for XRP fees.
Market structure and tokenomics
Total supply: ~100 billion XRP max
Fully diluted market cap: $135.47 billion vs. $70.78 billion market cap – physical supply surplus
Utility: Bridge currency for cross-border payments. Transaction cost is 0.00001 XRP. Banks can use Ripple Payments with fiat or stablecoins, meaning XRP adoption is optional.
SEC settlement: The legal battle was settled in 2025 under a crypto-friendly administration, removing a key overhang.
Risk factors
XRP has fallen more than 90% after its 2018 peak and is currently trading -68% below the July 2025 high. Analysts note that the bridge currency design creates structural selling pressure, as banks converting XRP back to fiat offsets buying. Spot ETF AUM represents only about ~1.2% of market cap vs. 6.4% for Bitcoin, indicating weaker institutional interest.
Outlook
XRP is holding support at the four-month low of $1.10. Sustainable hold above $1.14 – $1.15 opens the door to retest the $1.45 – $1.49 resistance that has capped upside since February. Losing $1.10 risks the psychological $1.00 level, with a bearish trajectory toward $0.36 in downside scenarios. ETF inflows and RLUSD settlement growth are the key catalysts going forward.
