On the 21st, the Ministry of Education, together with member units of the Interdepartmental Joint Conference on National Education Unified Examination Work, held a video conference on the safety of the 2026 National General College Entrance Examination, requiring strict management of the entire process of exam questions and papers, strengthening security measures for listening tests, preventing and cracking down on high-tech cheating, and steadily promoting related reforms.
The meeting proposed that we must firmly grasp the correct guidance of the college entrance examination, further strengthen ideological education and value guidance in terms of question-setting principles and test content;
firmly uphold the fairness baseline of the college entrance examination, integrate fairness into all aspects of the college entrance recruitment process, strengthen resource foresight allocation, and prevent privilege erosion of educational fairness;
firmly grasp the selection standards of the college entrance examination, focus on technological development and national strategic needs, innovate selection methods, effectively guide universities to adjust discipline and major layouts, enrich the connotations of disciplines and majors, and promote the integrated development of educational, technological, and talent cultivation.
The meeting required a comprehensive investigation and rectification of risk points and weak links in recruitment and examination work, strengthen supervision before, during, and after the process, continuously rectify enrollment publicity, and effectively reverse tendencies toward utilitarianism and shortsightedness;
strengthen comprehensive services and guarantees in security, transportation, accommodation, and health epidemic prevention, enhance public service guidance for volunteer registration, and create a positive public opinion environment for the “Gaokao season.” ( Xinhua News Agency )
