In recent years, news media have often compared my hometown Hefei and Shenzhen, and there have been a few intense comparisons recently. It feels like there are indeed similarities.

Apart from both being characterized by technological innovation, their cultural and natural scenery are also very similar: the city centers don't have many interesting attractions, so people usually go shopping at the China Resources Vientiane commercial complexes, or take walks by the sea/lake, which can really help people settle down and focus on something.
Of course, there are also obvious differences. As a special economic zone, Shenzhen is still closer to money, and people living there tend to unconsciously get used to this state.
