OpenAI and Oracle have decided not to proceed with plans to expand a large AI data center in Texas, USA. Previously, negotiations between the two parties regarding the project had been stalled for a long time due to funding issues and OpenAI's changing requirements. Sources familiar with the matter said that after the negotiations ultimately fell through, an opportunity arose for Meta to get involved. Meta is currently considering leasing the site of a data center in Abilene, Texas, from developer Crusoe, which was originally planned for expansion. It is reported that NVIDIA played a facilitating role in connecting Meta with the developer. (Reuters)
