Previously, negotiations over the project had been stalled for a long time due to funding issues and OpenAI’s changing requirements. Sources say that after the negotiations ultimately fell through, it opened up opportunities for Meta’s involvement. Meta is currently considering leasing the site of a data center in Abilene, Texas, from developer Crusoe, which was originally planned for expansion. It is reported that NVIDIA played a facilitating role in connecting Meta with the developer.
