US Stock Movement | Oil and gas stocks mostly rise Western Oil (OXY.US) up more than 2%

The SmartChain Finance APP has learned that on Friday, oil and gas stocks generally rose, with Occidental Petroleum (OXY.US) up over 2%, ConocoPhillips (COP.US), ExxonMobil (XOM.US), and TotalEnergies (TTE.US) each rising over 1%. According to a report released on March 6 by the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC), shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has almost come to a complete halt. Additionally, Qatar warned that Middle East conflicts could force the Gulf region to cease energy exports within a few weeks. Driven by these news, international oil prices surged intraday, with Brent crude oil rising 7% for the day, currently at $91.42 per barrel.
