On July 26, 2025, Gate Charity successfully held the "Fashion for Impact" fashion communication workshop in Cotonou, Benin, in collaboration with local fashion professionals. This event is an important step for Gate Charity in promoting creative education and vocational training, empowering disadvantaged youth.
The workshop attracted over 100 participants, including young designers aspiring to enter the fashion industry and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through expert-led courses, live demonstrations of skills, and inspirational sharing from industry professionals, attendees gained an in-depth understanding of the tools, techniques, and development opportunities in the fields of fashion design and tailoring. This event not only provided technical knowledge but also emphasized the fashion industry as a respectable and promising career path, offering young people the possibility of self-expression and professional development.
As part of its commitment to public welfare, Gate Charity awarded full fashion professional training scholarships to 10 disadvantaged youths, helping them enter formal vocational courses and providing a solid foundation for their long-term career development and economic independence. In addition to the training courses, Gate Charity also took on related logistical and integration support to ensure that each beneficiary can smoothly embark on their learning and growth journey.
The "Fashion for Impact" workshop responds to the growing demand for local talent in Africa’s booming fashion industry and addresses the harsh reality that many young people struggle to access formal training due to economic constraints.
